Chinese Medicine Pillars of Health

I incorporate the pillars of Chinese Medicine into all my treatment strategies. To maximise the effectiveness of your treatment you may be given some lifestyle advice relating to the following areas to implement outside of the clinic.

  • ACUPUNCTURE

That’s my part! But it doesn’t just finish in the treatment room. I will also prescribe acupressure points that I you can use to manage your condition at home

  • MOVEMENT

Traditionally this would have been a qi gong, tai chi or a martial art, however other gentle forms of movement and stretching such as yoga maybe recommended. These types of energy work incorporate breath work, movement and stillness and are particularly beneficial for good health.

  • DIETARY THERAPY

Chinese dietary therapy is not about eating “healthily” but rather about eating the right foods for you, for your current state of health. Advice may cover what time you eat, the type of food you eat or even the temperature of the food you eat.

  • HERBAL MEDICINE

Chinese herbs are a core part of Traditional Chinese medicine, although I am not a trained herbalist I have a great herbalist I work with that I recommend to those patients that I feel would really benefit from it.
